What\’s your take on this new AeroGarden?

Aerogarden

I’m not sure what to think… It doesn’t seem very natural to me. I haven’t looked very far into it, but I read the overall design and purpose of it.
What do you think about this? Good and safe idea or not so much? (I’m not sure what wouldn’t be safe about it, just comparing it to growing plants naturally)

I eat organic plants, fruits, and vegetables, I don’t know if the average grocery store plant, fruit, or vegetable are grown any different.. But either way, just want to know what your take on this is. Looks efficient, though I would probably be hesitant in using it.
Thanks in advance : )

  1. I got one for xmas. I started it on New Years and and it’s still producing lettuce. It’s really easy, which is good because I have a black thumb when it comes to traditional gardening.
I don’t know what the nutrient tablets are made from, but other than water, there isn’t anything else involved except the light. It’s a really bright light, so you will need to keep your aerogarden somewhere where the light won’t bother you at night.

  2. I don’t really like it. I just like growing plants my way, or buying them at the grocery store. I mean, I bet some people like it, but it is practically unuseful to me.

  3. You can purchase “organically grown” plants and produce in stores. If labeled as such, it must be provable. In any case, they would be cheaper than the $150 for the Aero Garden. The replacement “pods” are $20. From what I see in the commercials, they are cutting the plantings with “cuticle sissors” so there isn’t much there. My opinion is that they are a great conversation piece, but no an economical solution for growing plants and veggies.
